LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - The father of a slain 18-year-old West Texas girl has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for not registering as a sex offender.

Christopher Jeffcoat was indicted on the charge about three months after his 18-year-old daughter, Holli Jeffcoat, was found dead in her home near Lubbock. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (https://bit.ly/2f8pRGI) reports he was required to register after he was convicted in 2004 of indecency with a child and sentenced to 8 years in prison after admitting that he touched a 13-year-old girl inappropriately. Authorities say the girl was not daughter Holli.

He hasn’t been charged in Holli Jeffcoat’s death, but her mother, Debi Holland, and stepfather, James Holland, are charged with capital murder in the death. The Hollands also are charged with sexually abusing the teen.
