LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The Fayette County coroner says human remains have been found in the Kentucky River in central Kentucky.

Coroner Gary Ginn says a human foot and part of an ankle were found Wednesday near the Valley View Ferry.

According to media reports, police say the remains were initially noticed Saturday while vehicles were being recovered from the river. The vehicles were spotted several months ago.

Police say it’s not clear whether the remains are connected with any of the vehicles previously found in that part of the river.
