BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) - A woman has sued a New Hampshire elderly care center, saying her mother’s exposure to “noxious chemicals” while getting a perm there contributed to her death.

Betty Anne Fraser’s lawsuit says two employees giving the perm didn’t “exercise reasonable care in the use of certain noxious chemicals in their provision of hair care” in November 2014 at Oceanside Center in Hampton. She said her mother, Betty Pettigrew, an Oceanside resident, suffered vision problems from the chemicals, fell and fractured her hip in February 2015. She died that April at age 89.

The Portsmouth Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2eKkPfr) the lawsuit said Fraser suffered loss of companionship and financial support. The suit seeks damages but doesn’t specify an amount.

A call seeking comment was left Thursday with the company that owns Oceanside.
