TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tempe police say there may be a drug connection to a homicide at a home in the downtown area.

Detective Lily Duran says officers conducting a welfare check early Thursday morning found a dead man with gunshot wounds in the home.

Duran says the investigation is in its early stages but that information found at the scene leads police to believe the home was targeted because of drug activity.

Duran also says the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.

The shooting location is on the 1100 block of South Roosevelt Street.
