PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Another change in the traffic pattern on Interstate 95 through Providence is being put into place this weekend.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said the second phase of the new pattern on I-95 south is set to begin Saturday morning.

The new configuration that began last weekend involves a split near the Providence Place mall.

The second phase will create one through lane to the left of an old bridge and two to the right of a new bridge. An exit for Atwells Avenue will remain open to the far right.

Work on the new phase was scheduled to require temporary lane closures between 10 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, unless bad weather delays the work.
