LEESBURG, Va. (AP) - Police say an eye doctor has been charged with groping a patient during a routine eye exam in Leesburg.

Thirty-five-year-old Joseph Rosina of Sterling is facing a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery. Court records show he was charged on Wednesday.

Leesburg police said in a news release Saturday that the incident occurred in August. Police say a patient at Visionworks reported that the doctor had touched her inappropriately.

Police say Rosana was working as an optometrist at the Visionworks location and is no longer employed there. Police say they are asking for the public’s help in identifying other possible victims.

No attorney for Rosana was listed in court records.
