BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) - The top federal prosecutor in Rhode Island will lead a town-hall-style discussion about heroin and opioid addiction at Roger Williams University.

U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha will lead the discussion Thursday evening at the school’s main campus in Bristol.

Neronha says the key to beginning to address the opioid overdose epidemic is prevention and treatment.

Panelists will include a special agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and members of the medical and recovery professions.

The event is free and open to community members.

It will include a screening of the documentary, “Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict.”
