CRUGER, Miss. (AP) - A 24-year-old truck driver died when his vehicle was hit by an Amtrak train in the Mississippi Delta.

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March says the wreck happened Wednesday morning near Cruger.

March says based on Social Security records, the truck driver’s name was Omar Savillion of Leland, Mississippi. However, deputy coroner Ruby Redmond says the man’s relatives identified him as Omar Sabillon.

WAPT-TV (https://bit.ly/2e2m0K3 ) reports the train pushed the truck nearly three-quarters of a mile.

Amtrak spokeswoman Kimberly Woods says no injuries were reported to 169 passengers and crew aboard the southbound City of New Orleans, which runs between Chicago and its namesake city.

Woods says the train stayed at the site while authorities investigated.

The Federal Railroad Administration says at least 54 people have died at Mississippi railroad crossings since 2007, including at least 14 involving Amtrak trains.

This story has been corrected to show the truck driver was 24.
