Rosie O’Donnell says she and Ivanka Trump randomly ran into each other and had a friendly exchange Wednesday night at the famed New York City restaurant Nobu.

The comedian, who has engaged in a years-long feud with Ms. Trump’s father, Donald Trump, wrote about the “face 2 face” encounter on Twitter later Wednesday evening.

“@IvankaTrump in a city of 8 million - we meet face 2 face - i thank u 4 listening - mother 2 mother - on this new years week - my best 2 u,” tweeted Ms. O’Donnell, referencing the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.

Ms. O’Donnell, who just last week referred to Mr. Trump as an “orange anus,” was apparently so moved by the run-in with the Republican presidential nominee’s daughter that she pinned the tweet to the top of her page.

She confirmed to local news reporter Bill Ritter that she met Ms. Trump at Nobu Fifty Seven around 9 p.m.

Neither Ms. Trump nor her father have responded to Ms. O’Donnell’s tweet.

The comedian became a topic of conversation during the first presidential debate after Mr. Trump said Ms. O’Donnell deserved much of the ridicule he had aimed at her over the years.

Ms. O’Donnell, apparently watching the debate, tweeted at the time: “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT.”
