DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover Police have arrested two men officers say were trying to steal lawnmowers in a stolen trailer.

The department said in a news release that officers were called to an automotive and lawn care company about 5 a.m. Tuesday. Officers say they found a trailer with a $9,800 lawnmower in it hitched to an SUV.

Authorities say holes were found cut in a chain-link fence on the property, and an $8,000 lawnmower outside the fence.

Police arrested the two men inside the SUV. Forty-four-year-old David Nicholas and 46-year-old Paul Rowan have been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing.
