PEABODY, Mass. (AP) - Police say a helicopter made an emergency landing in Peabody because of mechanical issues. There were no reports of injuries.

Local authorities say the privately owned chopper landed without incident on the side of a road Thursday afternoon. The mechanical problems were not disclosed.

Police say the helicopter will remain where it is until Friday, when it is expected to take off again after repairs are made.

Officials say investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration are not responding because the incident wasn’t an accident.
