LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Miss Arkansas pageant is moving to Little Rock after spending nearly six decades in Hot Springs.

Pageant officials announced Wednesday that the 2017 event will be held in June at the newly renovated Robinson Center in downtown Little Rock.

The pageant has been held in Hot Springs since 1958. But scheduling conflicts at the Hot Springs Convention Center prompted pageant officials to seek bid requests, and Little Rock, Conway and Hot Springs all applied.

A $70 million renovation project is now underway at the Robinson Center, and work is expected to be complete in November.
