NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) - Police say a security guard at an extended stay hotel outside Atlanta has been shot multiple times.

Gwinnett County police say the guard was shot Thursday morning at the Norcross Extended Stay and taken to a hospital. They say he underwent surgery and his medical status was “critical.”

Police say they’d received a 911 call from a resident of the hotel, who said the security guard had been shot several times in a hallway.

Gwinnett County police said in a statement that they’re asking that anyone with information on the shooting contact them or CrimeStoppers.

The hotel is about 17 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
