SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - The owner of The Sidney Sun-Telegraph says his newspaper will be cutting back publication to two days a week.

Owner Gary Stevenson said Thursday in a message posted on the newspaper’s website (https://bit.ly/2cbAV0h ) that the paper was too small to continue daily publishing. The October 2015 statement of ownership, management and circulation for the U.S. Postal Service said circulation was 2,096.

Stevenson says going to a twice-weekly schedule, on Wednesdays and Fridays, will let the newspaper shift focus to local content.

He says the new schedule begins Oct. 1.
