DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Nearly two dozen elderly South Carolina military veterans are being treated to flights over the Pee Dee region aboard vintage aircraft.

The Florence Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/2bDQ9PC ) the Arizona-based foundation Ageless Aviation is using a Boeing Stearman vintage open-air cockpit aircraft for the flights. They are being held to thank the military veterans for their service.

The nonprofit foundation is scheduled to take about 24 veterans for the rides on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The organization had coordinated similar flights last year.

The public is welcome to come to Branhams Airport near Darlington to watch the planes take off and land and meet the aircraft’s pilot.
