BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler is accepting applications for spots in her student cabinet.

The group will provide ideas and opinions about how to improve education in the state.

Baesler’s office says public and private school students in grades 3 through 12 are eligible to apply. Applicants must be able to travel to meetings and have a chaperone to accompany them.

The cabinet will have 20 members. Baesler says the cabinet members will have a role in “shaping what the next generation of students will experience in their classrooms and could even influence their next year in school.”

The application deadline is Sept 23. Baesler hopes to name her cabinet appointments by Sept. 30.
