SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A woman and man who died in an apartment fire in Spokane have been identified.

The Spokesman-Review reports the Wednesday blaze killed 61-year-old Georgia J. Eshom and 57-year-old Robert C. Guillemette.

Charles McKenzie is recovering from third-degree burns sustained while trying to pull the man out of the apartment.

He told KXLY Thursday that he’ll be OK and would do it again.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office said both Eshom and Guillemette died from smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say the accidental fire may have been caused by smoking or a power strip.

The blaze spread to other apartment units and displaced some residents.
