SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The owner of a Salt Lake City bicycle shop says a man purporting to be an interested customer stole a $5,500 bike.

Philip Blomquist, owner of Bicycle Center in the Sugar House area, tells KSL-TV (https://bit.ly/2cLyG4D) that a man entered the store Thursday and showed interested in a Specialized Turbo Levo bike.

According to Blomquist, the man left an ID and credit card in exchange for taking the bike for a test drive.

He never returned.

Blomquist says they have since determined the credit card and ID are not valid.

He says the bicycle is the “Ferrari” of bikes and had only been on the floor for two days.

Store surveillance footage shows the suspect is white with light brown hair and a partial goatee.
