CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a 71-year-old man has died after being hit by a sport utility vehicle in Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/2ceSNa8 ) that officers were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. Friday near First Avenue Northeast and 22nd Street.

Police say the man was trying to cross First Avenue when he was hit.

An ambulance took the man to St. Luke’s hospital in Cedar Rapids, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the man’s name.

Police say the driver, a 26-year-old woman from Marion, was not hurt.

No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
