American defender DeAndre Yedlin scored his first goal for Newcastle, striking in injury time in a 2-0 win at Derby on Saturday.

Making his second appearance for the League Championship club, Yedlin entered in the 77th minute and scored on a close-range left-footed shot following a corner kick.

The 23-year-old from Seattle was acquired from Tottenham on Aug. 24 and made his first appearance three days later, entering in the 88th minute against Brighton. He spent most of last season on loan to Sunderland, where he became a regular Premier League starter.

Yedlin joined Tottenham from Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders in January 2015 but made just one appearance for Spurs before he was lent to Sunderland.
