WEST MILFORD, N.J. (AP) - A man seriously injured in a hit-and-run boating accident this week has been released from the hospital.

But another man hurt in the crash remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Robert Roon’s wife tells The Record (https://bit.ly/2ct0ZZa) that her 72-year-old husband returned to their West Milford home Thursday. He had been hospitalized in critical condition since Monday night’s accident on Greenwood Lake in West Milford.

Roon was a passenger in an 18-foot Bayliner boat operated by 72-year-old Edwin Lane, also of West Milford.

The two men and their wives were headed back from dinner at a lakeside restaurant when an unknown vessel crashed into them from behind. The other vessel became airborne and went over Lane’s boat before fleeing the scene.

Both men suffered head injuries, and their wives suffered lacerations.
