MINOCQUA, Wis. (AP) - A 66-year-old Minocqua man has died after he was struck by lightning while walking his dog during a thunderstorm.

Bryan Jennings was hit by lightning outside his home about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say Jennings was unresponsive when medical help arrived. He was taken to a hospital in Minocqua before being transferred to the University of Wisconsin Hospital burn center in Madison, where he died Thursday.

WSAU Radio (https://bit.ly/2c1O7bN) reports the Oneida County medical examiner’s office confirmed Jennings’ death Friday.

Jennings was a Minocqua town supervisor. Police say his five-month-old dog was not hurt.
