MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Police have identified a Connecticut man who was killed in a three-car crash that injured three others.

Police on Friday identified the victim as 67-year-old Middletown resident William Fetter.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Thursday at an intersection in Middletown.

Police say the Toyota being driven by Fetter was rear-ended by a Honda, sending the Toyota spinning into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Volkswagen.

Fetter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda, 53-year-old Middletown resident Sandra Fuller, and the driver of the Volkswagen, 58-year-old Middletown resident James Liverman, suffered minor injuries.

The Volkswagen’s passenger, 55-year-old Middletown resident Louise Liverman, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
