ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Authorities say the pilot of a float plane is dead after a fiery crash in an Anchorage neighborhood.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told The Associated Press that one person was aboard the plane when it crashed late Saturday afternoon.

An Anchorage Police spokeswoman tells KTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/2c2l089 ) that no homes were affected by the crash.

Dispatchers began receiving calls at 4:30 p.m. that the plane had crashed in flames. Firefighters say crews quickly had the fire under control.
