MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Breck Ruddick threw three touchdown passes, and Missouri State held on to beat Murray State 28-22 on Saturday.

Murray State pulled within two when KD Humphries found Jordon Gandy for a 1-yard score with 1:46 left in the third quarter, but the 2-point attempt was no good, and Calan Crowder’s 16-yard TD run pushed the Bears’ lead to 28-19 midway through the fourth.

Crowder rushed for 97 yards on 19 carries.

Connor Mitchell kicked a 37-yard field goal for Murray State to make it a one-score game with 1:29 remaining, but Missouri State (2-0) was able to run the clock out.

Murray State (0-2) got within three on Gandy’s 55-yard scoring pass to Gandy in the second quarter, but Missouri State answered with an seven-play, 75-yard drive culminating in an 8-yard TD reception by Adam St. Peter to give the Bears a 21-10 lead.
