ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The New York State Museum has added a new component to its exhibit on the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Officials at the Albany museum say the addition called “World Trade Center Survivors” is part of the exhibition titled “The World Trade Center: Rescue, Recovery, Response.”

The new material tells the stories of three of the thousands of people who survived the 9/11 attack in Lower Manhattan. Objects used to tell those stories include a pair of shoes, a cellphone and a stairway evacuation sign from one of the fallen Twin Towers.

State Museum Director Mark Schaming says those stories “have kept this tragic history alive on behalf of those who cannot.”

Afternoon tours of the exhibit are being held Sunday, the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
