ASHLAND, Mass. (AP) - A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car while crossing a street in a Massachusetts town.

Ashland police say it happened just after 8 p.m. Friday.

The victim, an 18-year-old Milford woman, suffered serious injuries. She was taken via medical helicopter to a hospital in Worcester. Her condition wasn’t immediately available Saturday. Police have not released her name.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old Ashland man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors.

Ashland is located about 30 miles west of Boston.
