Donald Trump shared results from a recent physical examination with Dr. Mehmet Oz during a taping of Dr. Oz’s show on Wednesday after asking a studio audience if he should do so.
Mr. Trump’s physical examination was performed last week by Dr. Harold Bornstein, Mr. Trump’s longtime personal physician who wrote a letter last year saying Mr. Trump would be the healthiest individual ever elected to the White House.
In a preview clip of the show, which is to air Thursday, Dr. Oz asks Mr. Trump if his health is as strong as it seems, “why not share your medical records?”
“Well, I have really no problem in doing it. I have it right here,” Mr. Trump said.
“Should I do it? I don’t care,” he said, prompting applause from the audience before pulling something from his jacket.
“It’s two letters. One is the report and the other is from Lenox Hill Hospital,” Mr. Trump said, before handing Dr. Oz the paperwork. “Those were all the tests that were just done last week.”
Lenox Hill is Dr. Bornstein’s hospital.
Dr. Oz also took Mr. Trump through “a full review of systems,” including the nervous system, head and neck, respiratory health, bladder or prostate health, and family medical history, according to the show.
Mr. Trump also discussed health care policy. His daughter, Ivanka, joined him to speak about the GOP presidential nominee’s newly unveiled child care and parental leave proposals.
The taping comes amid a renewed focus on the health of Mr. Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton after Mrs. Clinton’s recently-disclosed bout with pneumonia.
