ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a couple found in their eastern Pennsylvania home may have died several days before.

Lehigh County authorities believe that because although the bodies were found Thursday afternoon, trash cans which were left outside their Salisbury Township home weren’t brought back in Monday as usual.

The county coroner hasn’t released the names of the man and woman found dead, but neighbors identified them as a trucker and his girlfriend who rented the home in this suburb of Allentown.

The district attorney’s office says the deaths are “suspicious” and the county’s Homicide Task Force is also investigating, but authorities have stopped short of saying whether they believe the couple were slain or died some other way.

Autopsies were expected Friday.
