CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say an Iowa businessman who owned three bars has been imprisoned for federal tax evasion.

Federal prosecutors said in a news release Friday that 51-year-old Bradley Tischer, of Atkins, was given 18 months and fined $5,000. He also was ordered to make restitution of nearly $3,000. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids

Prosecutors say Tischer owned and operated Brogans, Miguels and Bobby T’s and a corporation known as JGT Inc., which was used to operate Miguels and Bobby T’s. Prosecutors say Tischer underpaid his taxes from 2009 through 2013 because he didn’t report all his income.
