HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - A dress worn by a Mississippi delegate to the Democratic National Convention is now on display at a New York museum.

The garment, made from fabric with a picture of President Barack Obama, was created by Kelly Jacobs of Hernando.

Jacobs tells The Commercial Appeal (https://memne.ws/2clC0Gn ) that she has made 13 politically-themed dresses, in part as a conversation starter in Republican-dominated DeSoto County.

Margi Hofer, director of the New-York Historical Society Museum & Library, says the dress caught her eye when a picture of Jacobs wearing it was published on the front page of The New York Times. The museum collects “expressive” political garments and memorabilia.

Along with the dress, Jacobs donated a bejeweled hat, evening gloves and an American flag purse.
