EDISON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was killed when some scaffolding collapsed and fell on him at a New Jersey industrial complex last weekend.

Edison Township police said Thursday that 36-year-old Julio Perez died Saturday afternoon when a section of steel scaffolding collapsed and killed the New Brunswick man at NU World Beauty Supply warehouse.

Police say witnesses told them Perez was disassembling scaffolding with several other workers when the accident occurred. None of the other workers were injured.

NuWorld Beauty spokeswoman Lauren Kahn tells NJ.com that none of its employees were on site during the accident. She says Perez worked for a firm hired by NuWorld to dismantle shelving.

The incident remains under investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
