BOWMAN, N.D. (AP) - New charges have been filed against two of the suspects in a homicide that authorities say took place in a Bowman motel last month.

KXMB-TV (https://bit.ly/2c7YQR1 ) reports 21-year-old Chase Swanson and 26-year-old Madison West, both of Bowman, have now been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Both also face charges of theft of property and felon in possession of a firearm.

Authorities say housekeeping staff at the El-Vu Motel found the body of 23-year-old Rhame resident Nicholas Johnson on Aug. 20 in a room where Swanson and West had been staying. Authorities then ruled the death a homicide.

Swanson and West were later arrested in Denver, where they had driven Johnson’s pickup truck.

Court records for Swanson and West do not list defense attorneys who could comment on their behalf.
