SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Four people have been injured after a stabbing attack in downtown Salt Lake City near a homeless shelter.

Police say the stabbings occurred during a Tuesday evening fight involving 10 to 15 people. Salt Lake City police Detective Cody Lougy says the fight apparently started when a man who was arguing with his girlfriend stabbed other people in the area.

Two men were stabbed in the chest and are in serious condition. Two other men suffered minor injuries in the attack.

The attacker has been arrested. The woman involved in the altercation fled the scene and has not been found.
