BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (AP) - A company that makes skin products plans to add more than 550 jobs over the next five years at its operations in Buncombe County.

Gov. Pat McCrory said Wednesday that Avadim Technologies Inc. also will invest more than $20 million in its expansion over that same time period.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that Avadim President David Fann said Wednesday the company will begin construction of its new corporate headquarters within a year in Black Mountain Commerce Park.

A company vice president says Avadim makes skin products for use in the medical, sports and military fields.

Avadim now employs less than 110 people nationwide. Through a state grant, it’s eligible for almost $5 million in total reimbursements, payable over 12 years provided the company meets job creation and investment targets.
