KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Kingman police say a 69-year-old man is accused of abusing and assaulting a woman and an 11-year-old boy.

Police say the man sexually abused the victims, beat them with a stick, put battery acid in the woman’s eye and shaved the hair off both of their heads while they were bound with duct tape.

Police began investigating Saturday after the woman arrived at a hospital emergency room for treatment of her eye injury. Police then located the man while he was driving on Interstate 40.

He remained jailed Wednesday on suspicion of sexual assault, unlawful imprisonment, sexual abuse, kidnapping, sexual conduct with a minor and aggravated assault.

Court records indicate the man does not yet have an attorney who might comment on the allegations.
