SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Second-seeded Johanna Larsson of Sweden reached the Korea Open quarterfinals by stalling Kateryna Kozlova of Ukraine 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 on Wednesday.

Larsson overcame a mid-match hurdle to dispatch Kozlova, who has risen more than 60 spots in the rankings this year, and set up a quarterfinal with Lara Arruabarrena of Spain, who beat eighth-seeded Louisa Chirico of the United States 4-6, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2).

Camila Giorgi of Italy rallied from a set down to defeat Mona Barthel of Germany 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 for the second time in a month.

The win put Giorgi into her fifth WTA quarterfinal of the year. She will face China’s Zhang Shuai, who edged past U.S. Open doubles champion Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States 6-3, 7-5.
