METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Jefferson Parish deputies say a 23-year-old Metairie man faces cruelty charges after 10 pit bulls were rescued from his home.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/2d8w2FU ) Tyler Hardin was arrested Friday on 10 counts of simple cruelty to animals.

Robin Beaulieu, director of the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, says seven dogs were found chained and caged in the backyard. She says three more were found in the house.

Beaulieu said the house seemed abandoned, and had holes in the floor.

Jail records show Hardin was released Saturday on a $10,000 bond. The records did not list an attorney for him.
