TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County Sheriff’s officials say a suspect has been arrested after a man was shot multiple times west of Tucson.

They say 18-year-old Michel Mendivil-Lopez was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.

He’s been booked into the county Adult Detention Complex on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, domestic violence aggravated assault for causing serious physical injury and domestic violence aggravated assault with a weapon.

It was unclear Wednesday evening if Mendivil-Lopez has a lawyer yet.

Sheriff’s officials have not released the name of the victim.

They say the man was shot Tuesday night in the Tucson Estates area and was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities didn’t immediately say how Mendivil-Lopez was identified as a suspect in the shooting case.
