SELMA, Ala. (AP) - A prosecutor says a 14-year-old is in custody in connection with the shooting of a 13-year-old in Selma.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said the shooting happened Tuesday night after a middle school football game.

Jackson says police are investigating whether the shooting was related to a gang initiation. He says the 13-year-old was listed in critical condition but is expected to recover,

The district attorney said his office will seek to have the 14-year-old tried as an adult.

The shooting happened near an old cemetery that is close to where the football game was played.
