LAS VEGAS (AP) - Officials have identified a man who died after being found inside a Las Vegas home that caught fire last week.

KVVU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2cnFKlW ) the Clark County coroner says 58-year-old Kevin Ion was found by firefighters with critical burns to half his body on Sept. 14. Ion was taken from the residence to a hospital, where he later died. The cause and manner of his death has not yet been released.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Syzmanski says the fire took place in a bedroom that had been converted into a studio apartment.

The blaze had subsided by the time fire crews arrived.

Officials say extension cords and power strips appear to have started the fire, which was ruled an accident and caused an estimated $20,000 in damage.
