ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - Detroit Metropolitan Airport is getting more than $20.6 million for runway rehabilitation work.

The funding for the Wayne County Airport Authority was announced Thursday by U.S. Sens. Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan. The money for the airport in Romulus is from the Federal Aviation Administration in part to help maintain the structural integrity of the pavement.

The FAA also is awarding $5 million to the Oakland County International Airport to help rehabilitate and strengthen the airport’s Taxiway C.
