SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Shreveport man accused of stealing over $38,000 from a bingo parlor is in custody.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says 34-year-old Patrick Joseph Lincoln was arrested after an investigation determined Lincoln stole $38,941 form Veteran’s Bingo Parlor where Lincoln worked. He’s being held at the Caddo Correctional Center.

Prator, in a news release Thursday, said Lincoln allegedly took two checks belonging to the business and issued them to himself on Sept. 10, one for $10,000 and another for $15,000. The next day, Lincoln took a total of $13,941 in cash, placed it in a bag and left.

Lincoln surrendered after detectives obtained an arrest warrant for him for felony theft. In his possession was $25,474 in cash that he told detectives needed to be returned to Veteran’s Bingo Parlor.
