SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The National Weather Service is issuing flash flood warnings for parts of southern Utah, including Zion National Park and Hildale.

Meteorologist Lisa Verzella says there have been reports of flooding in a few canyons at Zion on Thursday morning and water in some parts of Hildale, located along the Arizona border.

About an inch of water has been reported in Zion.

Authorities are warning people to stay away from moving water and turn around if they encounter flood areas.

The area was the scene of devastating flash flooding last September.

Thirteen people died in Hildale after two cars full of women and children were swept away.

A group of seven people canyoneering in Zion were also caught in the storm and killed.
