GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A former Great Falls man has made an initial court appearance in the shooting death of a disabled military veteran.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/2cOwdeg ) Brandon Craft was charged Wednesday with deliberate homicide in the February death of 28-year-old Adam Petzack. Craft did not enter a plea.

Craft, who is 20, was arrested in Washington state in August. Prosecutors say he told investigators he shot Petzack, hid his body, pawned the gun and sold Petzack’s truck. Court records say Craft told investigators where they could find Petzack’s remains.

An investigation found Craft and his wife used Petzack’s debit card to take his disability benefits as they were deposited. Petzack was on full disability due to a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Katelyn Craft pleaded not guilty last week to an exploitation charge.
