ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police continued Thursday to monitor a south-side home where shots were fired Wednesday and a man refuses to come out.

Workers trimming trees for a power company reported the man stepped out of his house Wednesday, ordered them off his property and fired shots.

Police say the men were cutting trees in a public right of way and not on the man’s Ginami Street property.

Police surrounded the home Wednesday afternoon. Communications were limited because the man does not have a phone but police eventually spoke to him.

Officers tried to deploy gas into the home to force the man out.

Police say the man fired shots at officers.

No one has been injured.

Police say they’re continuing to seek a peaceful resolution to the incident.
