DETROIT (AP) - Arts and cultural organizations in Detroit area are getting a $9.1 million boost.

The Detroit News reports (https://detne.ws/2d29rNT ) the Kresge Foundation is announcing $5.1 million in grants to 66 arts and cultural organization in southeastern Michigan and the Erb Family Foundation is announcing $4 million in grants to 43 organizations, mostly ones based in Detroit.

Recipients represent a broad cross-section of arts organizations, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Children’s Choir, the Jewish Ensemble Theatre, the Scarab Club and Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit.
