LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) - Police say one person was killed and two others were hurt in an accident involving a motorcycle, two pedestrians and a car in Lawrence.

Police say a 64-year-old Methuen man was riding a motorcycle on Route 114 near the North Andover line at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday when he struck two pedestrians in a crosswalk.

The motorcyclist, identified as William Bickford, was then hit by a car that drove away without stopping. Bickford was pronounced dead at the scene. The pedestrians, described as a man and woman in their 20s, were taken to hospitals.

Police are seeking the car. They say it’s possible the driver was not aware the vehicle struck someone.
