JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - A Jersey City man has been sentenced to two life terms in the murder and decapitation of two men in 2013.

New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino said Thursday 31-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim was sentenced in Superior Court after a jury earlier found him guilty of the fatal shooting and mutilation of 25-year-old Hanny Tawadros and 27-year-old Amgad Konds.

Jurors rejected 31-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim’s self-defense claim.

Authorities say Ibrahim hacked off the men’s heads and hands before burying their remains in a shallow grave in Buena Vista Township. Officials say he also used a tire iron to knock out their teeth to hinder identification.

He previously testified that he’s a “local celebrity” who loves women and marijuana.

Police were led to the graves after receiving a report of suspicious activities nearby.
