RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - Trains are rolling again on New Jersey Transit’s Main/Bergen and Port Jervis lines after authorities examined a suspicious item.

NJ Transit says one of its police officers spotted a pair of shoes with what appeared to be a wire under them beneath a bench at the Ridgewood rail station at 8:45 a.m. Thursday.

Approximately 30 customers were evacuated, trains were stopped in both directions and a bomb squad was brought in.

Officials determined the shoes did not pose a threat and service resumed with delays after 10 a.m.
